They are not new, not refurbished to new condition, and not guaranteed to be free from all wear, cosmetic blemishes, or surface imperfections that are typical of used components.

The term "used" means that the products have been previously installed and operated in a vehicle in Japan. While JDM Florida inspects products at our Orlando warehouse prior to listing them for sale, we do not manufacture, rebuild, or certify these products as equivalent to new parts. All product listings include condition disclosures and, where available, photographs of the actual item.

Cosmetic imperfections: Surface rust, minor corrosion on external components, scratches, scuffs, discoloration on valve covers, and similar cosmetic blemishes are normal and expected characteristics of used imported engines and transmissions. These cosmetic conditions do not affect the mechanical performance of the product and are not grounds for a warranty claim or return.

Photographs: Product photographs on our website represent the actual item or a representative example of the same product type. Photographs of the actual unit in its current condition are provided where available. You accept that the exact color, finish, and appearance of a used part may vary slightly from the photographs shown on the listing.

No new-product guarantee: JDM Florida does not guarantee that any product sold will be free from normal wear and aging consistent with its used condition, age, and mileage history.

3. Vehicle Compatibility and Fitment Disclaimer

JDM Florida provides compatibility and fitment information on product listings as a general guide only. This information is based on commonly accepted vehicle application data and our knowledge of JDM part applications. However, JDM Florida does not guarantee that any product is compatible with or will fit any specific vehicle without independent verification by the buyer and their mechanic.

4. Emissions, Smog, and Environmental Compliance Disclaimer

This is one of the most important disclosures on this page. Please read it carefully before purchasing any engine or transmission from JDM Florida.

JDM engines and transmissions are designed and manufactured for use in vehicles sold in the Japanese domestic market. Japan enforces its own set of vehicle emission standards, which differ from those enforced by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). As a result, JDM engines may not comply with the emission control requirements of the state or jurisdiction in which they are to be installed, and they do not carry CARB Executive Order (EO) numbers.

Under the US Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. § 7401 et seq.) and applicable EPA regulations, it is illegal to install a replacement engine in a highway vehicle if the replacement engine renders the vehicle non-compliant with applicable federal emission standards. Under California Vehicle Code Section 27156 and CARB regulations, the installation of any engine or emission-related component that alters or modifies the original emission control system of a vehicle without a valid CARB Executive Order number may be illegal in California and in the following states that have adopted California emission standards: New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. Buyers in these states must exercise particular caution and are solely responsible for confirming legal compliance before purchasing.

Emission device transfers: Engines sold by JDM Florida may be supplied with external accessories, including emission control devices, attached for testing and convenience purposes only. These accessories are provided free of charge and are not included in the advertised purchase price, which represents the cost of the engine's long block only (cylinder head and short block). State and federal authorities may require you to transfer the emission control devices from your original engine to the replacement engine to achieve compliance. The cost and responsibility for performing those transfers rest entirely with the buyer.

Smog and inspection failures: JDM Florida will not be responsible for any failure of an emissions test, smog check, OBD-II inspection, or any other regulatory compliance test in any US state or jurisdiction. If a purchased engine fails any such test, JDM Florida bears no liability, and such failure does not constitute a valid warranty claim or grounds for a return.

Buyer's responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the buyer to research and understand the emission laws of their state before purchasing any engine or transmission from JDM Florida, to confirm whether the intended product is legally permissible for use in a road-registered vehicle in their state, and to take all necessary steps to achieve compliance after installation. JDM Florida strongly recommends that all buyers consult their state's Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Transportation, or state environmental authority prior to purchase.

5. Installation Safety and Professional Service Disclaimer

The installation of used automotive engines and transmissions is a complex mechanical task that involves significant risk of personal injury, vehicle damage, and property damage if not performed correctly. JDM Florida strongly recommends that all engines and transmissions purchased from our website be installed by a qualified, experienced, and licensed automotive mechanic or repair facility.

JDM Florida is not responsible for any injury, death, property damage, vehicle damage, or any other harm resulting from the improper installation of any product sold by us. The following installation-related conditions are expressly disclaimed:

Improper installation: JDM Florida accepts no liability for any damage, failure, or injury resulting from the improper installation of any engine or transmission, including but not limited to incorrect torque specifications, failure to prime the oil system before the first start, failure to replace the timing belt or chain, failure to flush and refill all fluids, incorrect wiring connections, or failure to conduct a compression test prior to installation.

Pre-installation procedures: The buyer and their mechanic are responsible for performing all required pre-installation procedures before starting an installed engine for the first time. These include, at a minimum: flushing the oil system and refilling with fresh oil of the manufacturer's recommended specification, replacing the oil filter, inspecting and replacing the timing belt or chain where applicable, inspecting and replacing all gaskets and seals as necessary, inspecting and servicing the cooling system, priming the oil system before first start, and monitoring oil pressure and coolant temperature closely during the first 50 to 100 miles of break-in operation.

Failure to follow pre-installation procedures: Any engine or transmission failure resulting from failure to follow the pre-installation procedures described above is not covered under our warranty and is entirely the responsibility of the buyer.

Modification and racing: JDM Florida's products are intended for use as standard replacements or performance street-use components in appropriate vehicles. Any use of our products in competitive racing events, dyno-tuning beyond normal parameters, or any other extreme application voids all warranty coverage and is undertaken entirely at the buyer's and operator's risk. JDM Florida accepts no liability for any damage, injury, or loss arising from the use of our products in any racing or extreme performance application.

Personal safety: Proper service and repair procedures are vital to the safe and reliable operation of any motor vehicle and to the personal safety of those performing the work. JDM Florida strongly recommends that all service be performed by a professional mechanic and that all standard safety precautions be observed at all times.
